So time for another long trek for some metel. i had a hard decision to make. on one hand i had Dethklok, on the other...the summer slaughter tour. i chose the former despite having to drive 2 hours to get to the show. The venue that was suppose to have the slaughter tour had a small fire so the show was moved to the Chance another hour and a half away from me, which is a nice venue if it's something like nightwish, or nothing to crazy where you wanna or just go nuts with the crowd, pits to small.
Anywho, Dethklok came on, they played with soylent green who i missed and chimaira, so not really talking about them. Dethklok played pretty much their entire Dethalbum excluding much to my dismay, lost vikings. dunkin hills coffie jingle, briefcase full of guts, every song was accompanied by video of dethklok playing in the background on an easily seen screen. i actually paid more attention to the screen since the band members themselves don't really do a whole lot.
the sound was really good on the instruments, but smalls vocals were tuned way to low. but it's more he just sings soft well doing nathan. during hatredcopter, his vocals as pickles were nice, clean and crisp. there were a few funny clips of facebones, the best one was him having a back and forth with the 2 scientist about what moshing is, and there was a "full episode" spaced through out the set. there really isn't much else to say. i wasn't expecting anything amazing from this show, i just wanted to see them once before the show gets canceled or small decides to axe it. all in all it was a good night. the crowed really loved it, and it was definitely an odd mix of people. there were people that were totally out of place there. there was a dude near me that kept this limp wristed devil horn and he was flailing around like he was swatting a fly, and i think he was just doing it cause every one else was. I'm still a little dumbfounded that a band like dethklok can almost sell out a venue but an actual serious straight up ass kicking metal band can have problems even filling the venue half way. but there it is then.
all in all, dethklok was good, but i think it'll be a one time thing for me, even if they actualy come to my town on another tour.
