Thread: Nile, Belphegor and Grave @ The Park, Peterborough, England 20/9/08

Holy fucking shit sticks was this a good show!!

Was i hyped up for this? Well let's just say a small child on christmas eve is kinda close to what i was like and i had been for months!

Some band i don't even know who the fuck it was opened and to be honest i didn't care for em much so moving on.

BELPHEGOR!! Well i'm kinda lost for words in all honesty, they played loud and they were tight and they played "Hell's Ambassador" and "Bondage Goat Zombie" so i was fuckin thrilled!!

GRAVE!! Second time i've seen these Swedish legends (first being at Wacken this year) and i was again impressed! The experience really showed although the sound quality wasn't too good (tis a common problem with the venue, not the band's fault). Oh how i do love the Swedes!

NILE!! This was the first time seeing Nile for me and i was blown away, they really are FUCKING good live! The crowd went fucking nuts! To be honest it seemed i was one of few people there that even knew who Grave and Belphegor were which is a bit shit but what the fuck! Got some awesome shots from side stage which i always manage at this venue as ya couldnt swing a fucking cat in it!

The greatest part of the night you may ask? Well it's a tough choice...first time seeing both Nile and Belphegor? Was great...but i think meeting George Kollias is the highlight......or was it hanging out with Grave and Helmuth for about 20 minutes after Nile finished??

At least others are enjoying Nile live! Seem 'em 3 times here and they've kinda disappointed every time. They need more on stage energy like Behemoth.

BTW, I know much more of Belphegor and Grave 's music than I do of Nile, haha.

Maybe the crowd you viewed Nile with wasn't that great as well. I find concerts are very symbiotic. If the band notices the crowd loves it, they will put forth more.

Nile seems to be a hit or miss live. George Kolias is always at his top performance but Karl Sanders (at least when I saw him) had very little in the way of stage presence. The place in NY that I´ve seen several shows in recent years really has a shitty sound system though and that may have also played a role.

Dallas tends to be the one to watch on stage. He's so weird and has a great persona on stage.

And I'm seeing Grave in a couple months. I havent actually gotten too into them yet, but the video Amok! posted is quite promising. Very chunky, not particularly fast. Kinda like Aeon.

No offence to them for what they do....but as people Karl and Dallas came across as complete dicks. Seemed to have the "i'm a rock god" thing about them...i.e they got their "security" dude to tape off the door that allows you to go into the smokin area (you cant smoke inside here in the UK anymore)...an he was bein shitty about people gettin close to the stage...even to take pics...they came off stage an bolted...didn't even so much as acknowledge a single fan...just fucked off.
Busy...gotta shoot to next venue? well Grave and Belphegor were hangin out...an Helmuth asked me if there was any metal bars/clubs in town....so that proves it wasn't the case...just cunts....sorry but i hate that....without the fans you are nothing.

I managed to get some from-side-stage pics despite MR security bein a dick...kinda had the mentality of "fuck you...i aint doin no harm i aint goin onto the stage...i'm takin some pics...man handle me if ya want but i don't give a fuck"
