Thread: Amon Amarth at the Phoenix 15/10/08

Bloody amazing show. I'm still too damaged to type properly, so i'll write a full review when my fingers heal. I've got the whole set taped. Here's the last song:

Ah man, sweet! Can't wait to see Amon, will be seein them at Wacken but i'll jump at the chance of seeing them sooner!

It was a good show...not the best time i'v seen them though.

but what i did learn...is that a good reason to where earplugs at shows is not to protect your ears from the music, but rather from the high pitched cries of girls.

Also...another little bit of food for my thought....you start feeling old when you go to the bathroom after the show and a girl walks in saying "wow that was such a great show"
other girl responds "yeah was it your first time seeing them"
Original girl "Yeah, you?"
second girl " naw was my third" ...and she says it with an air of 'i'm soo cool, look at me...admire me"

and all i can think of is damn...its my 6 or 7th time seeing them...im 22, why do i feel this old right now...and just walk out and join my old group of friends.

Shows with older crowds really are so much better.
When i saw Iced Earth a couple weeks ago, it was a teusday night and an older crowd... i find it much easier to get into your little bubble and enjoy the show...plus people just have more crowd awareness and basiclly respect....

Amon Amarth ...yes....good show..not best...but good...

I hope to get to see them on the Unholy Alliance tour. if I am as drunk as last time I'll be circle headbanging like a motherfucker.

I had 8 beers during the show it was so damn epic.

I totally understand you. I am feeling like an old man when I go to shows and I am only 23. Every kid there has a new band shirt from some tour they just went to while I am sporting an older band shirt (haven't bought one in over a year now) and my vest. The annoying girl problem is only when the local kid bands play where all the girlfriends show up.

The whole concert is up, enjoy~!

I am complimented on my vest atleast a dozen times every show I go to. They are rare nowadays.

Shya. Even the guys of Amon Amarth (last time I saw them) commented on my vest. People respect a vest as it is an investment of time and knowledge of bands and where to get their merch.
